In a significant development, Chalavadi T Narayanaswamy, Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Council, has appealed to Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to transfer the investigation into the controversial death of a police sub-inspector to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

SI Parashuram, aged 34, died under mysterious circumstances on August 2 in Yadgir. His widow, Shweta, has accused Yadgir Congress MLA Chennareddy Patil Tunnur and his son Pampangouda of demanding a bribe and causing mental harassment, contributing to her husband's demise. The CID is currently handling the investigation but has faced criticism for lack of progress.

Narayanaswamy emphasized that the state-run probe may not be impartial, especially since the accused have allegedly been seen with high-ranking officials including the Chief Minister and Home Minister. He has requested the Governor's intervention to ensure a fair and thorough investigation by the CBI.
