Victims and relatives of the 2022 Morbi bridge tragedy are demanding a reinvestigation by the CBI. They accused Gujarat police of not properly investigating the incident and failing to hold municipal officials accountable despite the Special Investigation Team's (SIT) findings.

Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal and Justice Pranav Trivedi listened to the arguments presented by victims' advocate Utkarsh Dave, scheduling a detailed hearing on the SIT report for next month.

The tragic collapse, which occurred on October 30, 2022, resulted in 135 deaths. The victims' representatives argue that crucial documents were overlooked and key figures, like the then district collector, were not interrogated.

The court criticized Oreva Group, responsible for the bridge's maintenance, and directed them to deposit additional funds and provide jobs and future support for the affected families.
