Heavy rainfall lashed parts of Rajasthan, with Hindoli in the Bundi district seeing levels exceed 200 mm.

Significant rainfall was observed in regions including Jaipur, Dausa, Baran, Nagaur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Pali, and Sawai Madhopur. Extremely heavy downpours were recorded in Ajmer and Bundi districts in the last 24 hours.

The highest recorded rainfall occurred in Hindoli, Bundi at 220 mm, while Bikaner's Kolayat in the western region saw 172 mm. According to the MeT department, light to moderate rainfall was also noted in Alwar, Sikar, Karauli, Kota, Bhilwara, Tonk, Jaisalmer, and Barmer districts.

The northeastern circulation system is moving towards the west, promising more heavy rain in Jodhpur, Ajmer, and Bikaner divisions over the next 24 hours. From August 17 onwards, heavier rainfall is expected, with clear skies and sunshine projected from August 17 to 22, as another round of rain is forecast for the month's end.

In rescue news, over 50 people trapped at Padajhar waterfall in Chittorgarh's Rawatbhata were saved by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). The rescue operation became challenging after the team's vehicle got stuck in mud, but all 53 people were safely rescued by Friday morning.
