In the midst of heavy rainfall leading to severe flooding in Gujarat, Jamnagar's district administration remains steadfast in providing immediate relief and ensuring citizen safety. According to Jamnagar Collector Bhavin Pandya, the region has experienced intense rain over the past 3-4 days, causing numerous dams to overflow and resulting in widespread flooding and waterlogging in various areas.

Collector Pandya elaborated on the relief efforts, stating that the district administration, with assistance from the Army, NDRF, and SDRF, has successfully rescued between 15,000 to 20,000 individuals, relocating them to relief camps. Comprehensive arrangements, including food provisions, have been made for the evacuees.

Reassuring the public, Pandya noted that no casualties have been reported so far. Over the past two days, more than 30,000 food packets have been distributed, aided by NGOs' distribution of food grains. Medical emergency services are in place, with ambulances and necessary medicines available.

The Gujarat Chief Minister has been in regular contact with the local administration, ensuring continuous oversight. Meanwhile, IMD scientist Ramashray Yadav indicated that Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar might experience light to moderate rains, while Kachchh recorded heavy rainfall recently, surpassing usual levels since June 1.

Severe weather conditions have led to road closures and the destruction of a bridge portion in Jamnagar, impacting commuter movement. Rescue operations are actively being undertaken in the worst-hit areas by six Indian Army columns. Additionally, a team of 350 sanitation workers from Surat has been deployed to Vadodara for cleanup operations.

Surat Municipal Corporation's in-charge Executive Engineer Mahesh Rathod reported their ongoing efforts to survey and prioritize cleanup tasks in the affected regions. In light of these developments, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel shared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had contacted him to discuss the flood situation and the implemented relief measures.
