The BJP on Wednesday released its first list of 67 candidates for the Haryana assembly elections, slated for October 5. The list features notable figures such as Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who will contest from Ladwa, and veteran leader Anil Vij from Ambala Cantt.
Several recent entrants to the party have been rewarded with poll tickets. Devender Singh Babli, Sanjay Kablana, and Shruti Choudhry, all recent joiners, will contest from Tohana, Beri, and Tosham seats, respectively. Former Haryana BJP president Om Prakash Dhankar will vie for the Badli seat.
Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh's daughter, Arti Singh Rao, has been fielded from Ateli, adding a familial dimension to the elections. The election will take place on October 5, with the counting of votes scheduled for October 8.
