The Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) held a significant meeting of its Political Affairs Committee on Monday, signaling a crucial development ahead of the Haryana polls slated for October 5. The party is poised to release its first list of candidates by Tuesday evening.

Dushyant Chautala, JJP chief and former Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, announced a pivotal promise during the meeting. Should the JJP form the government, 50% of teaching positions in Haryana's educational institutions will be reserved for women. He also highlighted the finalization of other manifesto points, including an increment in compensation for damaged crops from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 per acre.

In a strategic move, the JJP has allied with Chandra Shekhar Azad's Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) for the upcoming assembly polls. Together, they will contest all 90 constituencies, with JJP fielding candidates in 70 and ASP in 20. Meanwhile, other political parties like BJP and Congress are also in the process of finalizing their candidates.
