Activist Prashant Kishor on Sunday declared that Jan Suraaj plans to field a substantial number of Muslim candidates in the forthcoming Bihar assembly elections.
Kishor, the founder of IPAC, dismissed allegations of attempting to split the minority vote to advantage the BJP, the RJD's main adversary in the state.
"We aim to allocate at least 40 tickets to Muslims in the elections for the 243-member assembly. The community will also be fairly represented in our leadership," stated Kishor, addressing reporters after a symposium on the political participation of Muslims organized by Jan Suraaj, set to become a full political party on October 2.
