JMM leader and former Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren has sparked political speculation after departing for Delhi on Sunday, sources indicated.

A close associate of Soren confirmed his departure from Kolkata to the national capital, yet refrained from providing additional details.

Upon his arrival in Delhi, Soren addressed reporters, denying any meetings with BJP leaders and stating that his trip was purely ''personal.''

Media reports had circulated on Friday suggesting that Soren may join the BJP ahead of the Jharkhand assembly elections. However, Soren dismissed these claims on Saturday, expressing his ignorance about the speculations.

He remarked to reporters in Jamshedpur, ''I don't know anything about such speculations and reports... I am where I am...''

In response to the rumors, BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Amar Bauri said, ''I have no official confirmation. I am getting information only through the media.''
