In a heated political climate ahead of the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections, former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of betraying the citizens of the state. Sisodia stated, 'The people of Haryana had chosen BJP with great expectations but BJP has betrayed the people of Haryana and has not done any work...The people of Haryana now want change.'

Expressing optimism, Sisodia said he believes the electorate will give Arvind Kejriwal a chance to govern with a full majority. 'When Arvind Kejriwal got a chance in Delhi, he worked a lot. On the same lines, today the Punjab government is working. On one side of Haryana is Punjab, and on the other side is Delhi. People on both sides are watching what kind of work Arvind Kejriwal does when he gets a chance. There is strong chance that Haryana will give a chance to Arvind Kejriwal this time,' he stated.

Meanwhile, Congress MP Manickam Tagore also voiced confidence in his party's prospects, predicting a win with over 70 seats in the upcoming polls. 'Haryana is in a very positive mood for Congress. We all expect more than 70 seats this time. We know that the momentum is on Congress' side. So, we want the process of selection of candidates as well as the combination of other things in the right way,' Tagore said.

In contrast, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini dismissed Congress' chances entirely, asserting that the party will be 'unable to open its account' in the elections. 'The Congress party will be unable to open its account in Haryana assembly elections...They do not come to provide facilities to the people but to do corruption,' claimed Saini.

The elections in Haryana will be conducted in a single phase on October 5, with counting set for October 8. The Election Commission of India revised the dates from October 1 to October 5 for polling and from October 4 to October 8 for counting, due to logistical considerations.
