Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, has conducted a comprehensive review of the security and law and order arrangements in Jammu district ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. Held on Saturday at the Conference Hall of the District Police Lines, the meeting gathered key police officials, including Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Shiv Kumar Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Joginder Singh, an official statement said.

During the meeting, ADGP Jain emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and security throughout the electoral process. He directed officers to remain vigilant and proactive, ensuring elections are free, fair, and peaceful. Jain highlighted the necessity for robust coordination among various security agencies to address potential challenges.

The review also covered deployment plans, advising additional forces in sensitive areas to prevent incidents. Intelligence gathering and timely information sharing were stressed. Jain assessed the district's overall law and order and the readiness of the police force, instructing high visibility and intensified security checks and patrols. Emphasizing community engagement, Jain urged officers to build public trust and cooperation during the election period.

Senior officials presented a detailed status on crime statistics and election preparedness. The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections are scheduled in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, with results on October 8.
