Haryana Police Bolster Security Ahead of Assembly Elections
Haryana's Director General of Police, Shatrujeet Kapur, announced enhanced security measures for the upcoming Assembly Elections. The state has received 70 companies of security forces from the Home Ministry. Cybercrime efforts have also intensified, with significant arrests made this year. The elections will occur on October 1, with results on October 4.

Director General of Haryana Police Shatrujeet Kapur on Saturday detailed the security measures ahead of the Haryana Assembly Election. He said a meeting has been held with the Election Commission to ensure safety measures. He mentioned that Haryana has received 70 companies of security forces from the Home Ministry.
"Preparations have been made for the assembly elections. A meeting has been held with the Election Commission, and 225 companies of security forces were sought from the Home Ministry, out of which 70 companies have arrived," DGP Shatrujeet Kapur said. He further elaborated on the ongoing security measures ahead of the elections.
"In view of the elections, blockades have started on the inter-state borders, flying squads, and surveillance teams have been activated. Teams are actively working to catch drugs and illegal weapons in collaboration with various departments." Kapur added that in the last month and a half, about four and a half thousand police personnel have joined the service, enhancing the force for the elections.
Kapur also discussed the progress in combating cybercrime, noting that Haryana Police has arrested 2,660 cyber criminals this year, with a significant portion being from outside the state. "The rate of blocking money in cybercrimes has improved substantially, reaching 36% in July."
Voting for the 90 seats of the Haryana Assembly elections will be held on October 1, with results announced on October 4.
