Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav has harshly criticized Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray for supposedly abandoning the party's core ideology in his pursuit of the Chief Minister's post ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra state assembly elections.

Jadhav, speaking at a felicitation programme in Jalna, accused Thackeray of bowing before ''trivial people" to achieve his political ambitions. The Union Minister, aligned with Shiv Sena led by current Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, contrasted Thackeray's leadership with that of his father, Balasaheb Thackeray, noting a significant departure from the party's traditional values.

Jadhav's remarks come in the wake of Thackeray's recent meetings with top Congress leaders in Delhi, sparking speculation about his role in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). The opposition alliance, comprising Congress, Sena (UBT), and NCP, faces a contest against the ruling BJP-Mahayuti coalition in the forthcoming elections.
