On Friday, September 13, the Supreme Court of India delivered a series of vital decisions. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal received bail in the CBI's corruption case linked to the excise policy scam, with the court citing 'unjust deprivation of liberty' as a reason.

The court dismissed a plea to declare Agra as a 'heritage city', indicating there were no substantial advantages to warrant such a declaration. Additionally, the SC ordered a halt to the felling or transplanting of trees for the metro rail project near Kolkata's iconic Victoria Memorial.

Among other notable rulings, the SC considered advancing the hearing on West Bengal's plea against the Calcutta High Court's verdict on OBC status for certain Muslim groups. The court also called for responses from the Bar Council of India regarding final-year LLB students' participation in the All India Bar Examination and sought transparency in the NEET-PG 2024 exam process.
