The Hyderabad Police has sought the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) assistance in issuing a Red Corner Notice against two key suspects, including T Prabhakar Rao, the former head of Telangana's Special Intelligence Bureau, in connection with a phone-tapping case, officials said on Saturday.

High-ranking officers from the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) and former top police officials were arrested by Hyderabad Police on March 13 for allegedly tampering with intelligence data and illegal phone tapping during the previous BRS regime. The primary suspects, including the former SIB chief, are believed to be absconding in the US.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner K Sreenivasa Reddy announced measures to expedite the Red Corner Notice process. He stated that the case remains active, with several suspects detained and others under surveillance, underscoring the gravity of the crimes involving significant privacy violations.
