In a pivotal move to address Left Wing Extremism, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level interstate coordination meeting in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The meeting saw participation from senior officials of seven states, focusing on enhancing inter-state coordination in tackling Naxalism.
High-profile attendees included Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy CM Vijay Sharma, and Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai. Chief Secretaries and Director Generals of Police (DGPs) from states including Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Maharashtra also participated.
The official statement highlighted intensified anti-Naxalite operations since the BJP's ascendancy in last year's assembly elections, with 142 Naxalites reported killed this year. Shah aims to eliminate Naxalism in Chhattisgarh within three years, contingent on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's re-election for a third term.
