Delhi Police confirmed on Thursday that the security cover for women wrestlers, who are preparing to testify against former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, remains intact. This clarification follows a misunderstanding by the assigned Delhi Police PSOs, which led to a temporary delay in security coverage.

In a response to a post by top Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat on X, Delhi Police stated, 'The security provided to the wrestlers hasn't been withdrawn; it was decided to request Haryana Police to take over the responsibility in the future, since the protectees normally reside there.'

Phogat had earlier claimed on X that Delhi Police had withdrawn the security of the women wrestlers set to testify against Bhushan in court. The case, which includes allegations of sexual exploitation against Bhushan, has seen an FIR and chargesheet filed by Delhi Police. The next hearing is scheduled for Friday.
