Olympic wrestler Vinesh Phogat joined the protesting farmers at the Shambhu and Khanauri borders between Punjab and Haryana on Saturday, urging the central government to address their demands and issues on priority.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha marked 200 days of their 'Delhi Chalo' agitation with a 'kisan mahapanchayat,' pushing for demands including a legal guarantee for MSP. Protests have persisted at these border points since February 13, after being halted by security forces.

Phogat, disqualified from the 50-kg final at the recent Olympic Games in Paris, was honored by the farmers. Expressing support, she said, "I want to tell you that your daughter is with you," emphasizing that the farmers' demands are not invalid. Phogat lamented the prolonged 200-day protest, highlighting the farmers' crucial role in feeding the nation and urging the government to respond with compassion.
