The women's wing of Congress' Latur unit organized a protest on Thursday in response to the sexual assault of two minor girls at a school in Badlapur, Thane district.
The incident occurred on August 12 and 13, when a male attendant allegedly assaulted the four-year-old girls in the school's washroom. An FIR was finally lodged on August 16, leading to the arrest of the accused the next day.
Protesters gathered at Gandhi Chowk with banners and slogans, demanding justice for the victims and condemning the state government for the rise in crimes against women. They submitted a memorandum calling for enhanced safety measures in schools and colleges to prevent such incidents.
