Brazil's aircraft manufacturer, Embraer, is turning its focus toward India to source suppliers for its defence, commercial aviation, and executive jet sectors.
Recognizing India as a strategic market, Embraer boasts a customer base across commercial aviation, executive jets, and defence with 44 aircraft in operation within the country. This strategy follows a high-level delegation's recent visit to India, aimed at assessing expansion possibilities for its supply chain.
According to Embraer, it sees potential among Indian manufacturers and systems developers to be key suppliers for components such as aerostructures, machining, sheet metal, composites, forgings, wire harness, and both hardware and software development. The company is partnering with Mahindra to implement a comprehensive local supply chain programme, which may include establishing an assembly line for the C-390 if selected for the initiative.
