FDA Officer Nabbed for Bribe of Rs 25,000 in Thane
Deepak Malpure, an assistant commissioner of the Food and Drugs Administration department, was caught by the Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau for accepting a Rs 25,000 bribe to issue a license for a new medical shop. The ACB has not arrested him yet but will file an FIR under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Deepak Malpure, an assistant commissioner in the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) department, was apprehended by the Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a Rs 25,000 bribe. The bribe was in exchange for issuing a license for a new medical shop, officials reported on Wednesday.
Initially, Malpure had demanded Rs 50,000 for the license before settling at Rs 25,000. The applicant who had been asked for the bribe approached the ACB, leading to Malpure's capture at the FDA office in Wagle Estate, Thane, on Tuesday.
Although Malpure has not yet been arrested, the ACB confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) will be filed against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
