Brother of Afzal Guru Enters J&K Assembly Election Fray
Ajaz Guru, brother of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, has filed his nomination as an Independent candidate for the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir from the Sopore seat. Ajaz, a resident of Delina in Baramulla, expressed that his candidacy is influenced by the hardships faced by Kashmiris over the past 35 years.

Ajaz Guru, the brother of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, has officially filed his nomination to contest the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir as an Independent candidate from the Sopore seat.
Ajaz, hailing from Baramulla's Delina area, made his candidacy official on the last day of the nomination filing process. He revealed to reporters that his decision to enter politics is driven by the '35 years of hardships' endured by Kashmiris.
The scrutiny of nomination papers is scheduled for Friday, with the final date for withdrawal set for September 17. The Sopore constituency will participate in the third phase of the elections slated for October 1.
