Key Leaders to Convene at North Eastern Council Meeting in Agartala

The gathering will also include governors, chief ministers, and other senior officials from northeastern states to discuss border issues, development activities, and project implementations.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia are set to attend the North Eastern Council (NEC) meeting in Agartala beginning on August 31, according to Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha.
The meeting will also see participation from governors, chief ministers, chief secretaries, and DGPs of all northeastern states.
Chief Minister Saha noted that key discussions will focus on border issues, development activities, and the implementation of various regional projects. Special attention will be given to the porous international border with Bangladesh. In addition, other states will present their development wishlists to ensure comprehensive regional growth.
Preparations for the NEC meeting will be finalized in a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Saha. This marks the first NEC gathering since the recent regime change in Bangladesh.
