Man Arrested in Goa for Alleged Repeated Rape of Minor

A man has been taken into custody in Colva village, south Goa, on accusations of repeatedly raping a 14-year-old girl, police confirmed on Sunday.

The suspect, identified as Devaraju Kaki from Telangana, was detained on Saturday based on the Goa Children's Act, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. The arrest was made following a complaint lodged by the victim's teacher.

Authorities claim that Kaki took advantage of the girl's parents' absence to commit the crime on several occasions. However, police have withheld further details, including the exact location of the incidents, the age of the accused, and specifics of the circumstances surrounding the crime. A judicial court has remanded the suspect to five days in police custody.
