Odisha Police on Tuesday held a preparatory meeting for the upcoming Ganesh Puja procession scheduled in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. Authorities emphasized that committees must apply for a procession licence on the designated dates for idol immersion. Bhubaneswar Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda explained the need for early license applications following discussions with puja committees and other stakeholders.

Commissioner Panda stated that only soundboxes would be allowed during the immersion, with a strict ban on DJ music. 'There will be no permission for DJ setups, and sound levels will be capped at 65 decibels,' he emphasized. This measure aims to maintain noise discipline during the festivities.

Regarding security, Panda mentioned that the police would take action against any disrespectful display of idols. 'We will enforce proper decorum for idols, and action will be taken against violators,' he told ANI. Comprehensive clearances from departments like Electricity, Fire, and BMC are also mandatory, and volunteer engagement for crowd control is required. Adequate forces will be deployed for traffic regulation, ensuring the event remains organized and peaceful.
