The Congress Party has recommenced its 'Kedarnath Pratishtha Raksha Yatra,' initially halted by a cloudburst on the Kedarnath trekking route.
The yatra, led by State Congress Committee President Karan Mahara, commenced from Sitapur in Rudraprayag district, where it was paused on August 2. Party Vice President Mathuradutt Joshi confirmed the restart.
Originally launched on July 24 from Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar, the yatra protests the Kedarnath Dham Delhi Trust's now-cancelled plan to build a duplicate temple in Delhi. Despite the cancellation, the Congress is determined to complete the yatra, which will conclude with religious rituals in Kedarnath on Friday.
