Zelenskiy Urges Western Allies for Greater Military Support Amid Gains in Russian Territory
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy reported Ukraine's control over 1,250 square kilometers and 92 settlements in Russia's Kursk region. He called for Western allies to allow deeper strikes into Russia, blaming the lack of this permission for Ukraine's inability to halt Russian advances on the eastern frontline.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced on Monday that Ukrainian forces had seized over 1,250 square kilometers and 92 settlements in Russia's Kursk region.
He pressed Ukraine's allies to authorize Western weapons strikes deep inside Russia, citing the absence of such permission as the primary reason Ukraine has not been able to stop Russian troop advances on the eastern front.
In a speech to ambassadors, Zelenskiy criticized the concept of 'red lines' regarding Russia, which he said had 'crumbled apart' near Sudzha, a border town in the Kursk region now under Ukrainian control.
