In a major success, security forces foiled an infiltration attempt in Jammu and Kashmir's Keran sector on Thursday, eliminating two terrorists. This significant operation by the Indian Army highlights the ongoing threat at the Line of Control (LoC).

On July 17, based on credible intelligence from JKP and further corroboration by other agencies, the Army anticipated an infiltration attempt through the Keran sector. On July 18, at around 12:30 a.m., alert troops detected the movement of two terrorists on the Pakistani side of the LoC. The terrorists opened fire upon being challenged, resulting in a fierce gunfight, officials stated.

Both terrorists, identified as foreign nationals, were killed. They were found in possession of weapons, war-like stores, and a Pakistani identity card, showcasing the successful synergy between the Indian Army, BSF, and JKP. This operation is the third successful anti-infiltration effort recently, highlighting the Indian Army's unwavering commitment to maintaining LoC sanctity and peace in the region.
