India's Nitesh Kumar and Thulasimathi Murugesan commenced their Paralympic quest with an assertive victory over compatriots Suhas Yathiraj and Palak Kohli in the mixed doubles SL3-SU5 category on Thursday.

Conversely, the second-seeded duo of Sivarajan Solaimalai and Nithya Sre fell short, succumbing in straight games to the American pair of Miles Krajewski and Jayci Simon in their SH6 group stage match.

Nitesh and Thulasimathi clinched their Group A match with a score of 21-14, 21-17, achieved in a brisk 31 minutes. The Haryana-born Nitesh and his Tamil Nadu counterpart, Thulasimathi, displayed superior net play and deep tosses that their opponents failed to counter.
