Lando Norris claimed pole position at the Dutch Grand Prix with a stellar performance, breaking Max Verstappen's 100% qualifying record at his home circuit of Zandvoort. Norris, driving for McLaren, will start alongside Verstappen, while teammate Oscar Piastri and Mercedes' George Russell complete the second row.
"I felt comfortable out there. The car felt amazing. We had some upgrades and everything is working very well," Norris said after lapping the seaside circuit in one minute 09.673 seconds.
Verstappen, who has a 78-point lead after 14 races, praised Norris's performance but remained upbeat about his chances in Sunday's race despite challenging wind conditions. "I tried the best I could. I'm still happy to be on the front row," he stated.
