North Korea's Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) is set to convene a session on October 7 in Pyongyang to discuss significant legislative matters, including a constitutional amendment, state media reported on Monday.
The last SPA meeting took place in January, during which leader Kim Jong Un called for a constitutional amendment that would designate South Korea as the 'primary foe,' signaling a shift in the North's stance on unification with its southern neighbor.
Other topics of discussion will include laws related to the light industry and product quality supervision. The decision for the upcoming meeting was finalized at a plenary session of the parliament's Standing Committee on Sunday. The SPA often serves to rubber-stamp decisions made by the ruling Workers' Party, which dominates the assembly.
