In a dramatic incident on Sunday, former US president and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump survived a second assassination attempt, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Gunshots were heard at a Florida golf course where Trump was playing.
Steven Cheung, Trump Campaign Communications director, confirmed Trump's safety, stating, ''President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time.'' Trump also reassured his supporters, emphasizing, ''I AM SAFE AND WELL! Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER!''
Three law enforcement officials have identified the suspect as Ryan Wesley Routh, who allegedly pointed a rifle with a scope into Trump's golf club. Both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were briefed on the incident and are being regularly updated.
