Seven people, including a girl, suffered injuries following wild animal attacks in Bankat village, Bhadohi district, sparking fear among local residents.

According to Bhadohi's Divisional Forest Officer Neeraj Arya, the attack took place last midnight, injuring Santola Devi, Vivek Mishra, Vikas Mishra, Rajan Prajapati, Sahib Lal, and one other person. All victims were treated at Deegh Community Health Centre.

Forest officials pointed to similar human-animal conflicts in other parts of Uttar Pradesh, which have resulted in eight deaths and over 30 injuries in wolf attacks within a two-month span. A team of forest officials is investigating, suspecting a pack of jackals behind the attack. Villagers have been advised to stay indoors during nighttime, and Chief Medical Officer Santosh Kumar Chak confirmed none of the injuries were severe.
