In a decisive move, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak announced on Monday that 26 medical officers in various districts will be dismissed for unauthorized absence and negligence. This directive aims to uphold the quality of healthcare services in the state.
The dismissal process has been initiated at the government level, with Pathak, who also serves as the Minister for Health, Medical and Family Welfare, making the announcement in a series of online posts. He has tasked the principal secretary (health) with seeking clarifications from the joint director of the Directorate General of Health.
In addition to the pending dismissals, several medical officers face halted salary increments and censure entries. Pathak asserted that negligence by medical staff tarnishes the department's image and deprives the public of essential medical services. Further disciplinary actions include issuing charge sheets and halting salary increments for other negligent officers.
