Heavy rains continued to lash several parts of Himachal Pradesh on Monday, paralyzing vehicular movement on 146 roads and disrupting 310 power schemes, according to officials.

The Shimla Meteorological Department has issued a 'yellow' alert for heavy rain in isolated parts of the state till Wednesday, warning of potential damage to plantations, crops, vulnerable structures, and kutcha houses.

The state emergency operation centre reported that 48 roads were blocked in Shimla, 43 in Mandi, 33 in Kullu, 10 in Kangra, five in Solan, three in Sirmaur, two in Kinnaur, and one each in Una and Bilaspur as of Monday morning following heavy rainfall. Additionally, the rains disrupted 301 power and 20 water supply schemes statewide, officials confirmed.

According to rainfall data from Sunday evening until Monday 9 am, Naina Devi recorded the highest rainfall at 142.6 mm, followed by Baijnath with 120 mm, Guler with 78.4 mm, and various other areas also experiencing significant rainfall.

Officials revealed that 122 individuals lost their lives in rain-related incidents and that the state has suffered economic losses of roughly Rs 1,140 crore between June 27 and August 17.
