Congress to Form Coordination Committee for Seat-Sharing in Jharkhand
The Congress announced a coordination committee will be formed to discuss seat-sharing with allies in Jharkhand before the upcoming assembly polls. AICC Secretary Saptagiri Shankar Ulaka made the announcement following the party meeting. The assembly elections are scheduled for later this year.

The Congress has announced plans to establish a coordination committee to address seat-sharing arrangements with its allies in Jharkhand ahead of the imminent assembly elections. The decision was disclosed by AICC Secretary Saptagiri Shankar Ulaka, Jharkhand's co-incharge, after a meeting held by the party.
Ulaka informed that the coordination committee would come into existence after consultations with the general secretary, arriving in Jharkhand on Sunday. The committee's primary role will be to negotiate the distribution of seats among the allies under the INDIA bloc banner.
Jharkhand Congress president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh added that the party will advocate for a caste census and the creation of an OBC welfare ministry following the elections. In the last assembly polls, Congress contested 31 seats in alliance with JMM and RJD.
