Former Chief Minister and National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah made an impassioned plea to the people of Ganderbal on Wednesday, urging them to vote for him and declaring that his honour lies in their hands.

Filing his nomination papers for the constituency, Abdullah marked his return to Ganderbal, a seat he represented from 2008 to 2014 during his tenure in the NC-Congress coalition government of Jammu and Kashmir. He later won the 2014 assembly polls from the Beerwah seat.

In an emotional address to supporters at the NC office, Abdullah recounted Ganderbal's struggles post-2016 and promised to address their issues if given another chance to serve as MLA. Holding his cap in his hands as a gesture of humility, he passionately sought voters' support.
