National Conference President Farooq Abdullah confirmed on Thursday that the party has finalized an alliance with Congress for all 90 assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir. This announcement followed a meeting between Abdullah and Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge at Abdullah's residence.
Abdullah described the meeting as cordial and expressed optimism about the smooth functioning of the alliance, which aims to restore full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the importance of this alliance for improving people's lives in the region.
The three-phase election for the 90-member Jammu and Kashmir Assembly is set for September, with the results to be declared on October 4. Abdullah also mentioned the inclusion of CPI(M)'s MY Tarigami in the alliance, reiterating their collective goal of winning a majority to bring positive change.
