Former Labour Party Leader Jeremy Corbyn announced on Monday the establishment of a new 'Independent Alliance', a pro-Palestinian parliamentary group that includes four newly elected British Muslim MPs. The alliance aims to increase representation in parliamentary debates and committees.

Corbyn, who ran as an Independent in Islington North after being expelled from Labour, is joined by Indian-origin MPs Shockat Adam and Iqbal Mohammed, and Pakistani-origin MPs Ayoub Khan and Adnan Hussain. Together, they now wield as much influence as the far-right Reform UK and Northern Ireland's DUP.

The group has vocalized their opposition to UK arms sales to Israel, and seeks to provide an alternative to austerity, inequality, and war. The Independent Alliance intends to use its collective strength to ensure these issues are discussed comprehensively in the House of Commons.
