Tributes Pour In for Former West Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee
West Bengal's political leaders paid homage to former Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee as his body was brought to the state assembly. TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim, and various ministers and officials paid their respects. Bhattacharjee, who passed away from respiratory issues, was later taken to the CPI(M) headquarters.

West Bengal ministers, MLAs, and MPs paid their tribute to former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, whose mortal remains were brought to the state assembly on Friday morning.
Wrapped in the CPI(M)'s red flag and covered in red roses, Bhattacharjee's body was brought from a mortuary amid the tears and slogans of his supporters. His wife Meera Bhattacharjee and son Suchetan were present.
TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim, Power Minister Aroop Biswas, and Agriculture Minister Sovandeb Chattopadhyay paid floral tribute to the former CM, along with Speaker Biman Bandyopadhyay and Deputy Speaker Ashish Banerjee. High-ranking police officials and veteran politicians also attended. Bhattacharjee passed away on Thursday after a prolonged illness. His body was later taken to the CPI(M) state headquarters, Muzaffar Ahmed Bhavan.
