Nepal's Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli has disclosed a secret seven-point deal with the Nepali Congress to ensure a smooth transition of power and stability in the government. Under this agreement, Oli will head the government for two years before handing over the reins to Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Presenting his proposal for a vote of confidence, Oli detailed the arrangement reached with the Nepali Congress two weeks ago. This deal paved the way for the fall of the previous coalition led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and establishes Oli as the prime minister for the fourth time.

The agreement aims to foster national consensus, curb corruption, ensure good governance, and enhance economic activities. Despite being kept secret, the details of the accord were finally made public in response to demands from Nepali Congress general secretary Gagan Thapa.
