The Congress on Thursday expressed deep condolences for the victims of a devastating fire at a pharmaceutical factory in Anakapalle district, Andhra Pradesh, which claimed 17 lives and left 33 injured.
The fire erupted around 2:15 PM on Wednesday at Escientia Advanced Science Pvt Ltd, leading to harrowing scenes as injured workers were rushed to hospitals with severe injuries.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge urged the government to offer immediate compensation to the victims' families and called for preventive measures to avoid future incidents. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has initiated a high-level inquiry, promising strict action if negligence is proven.
