Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao has launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led Telangana government, accusing it of deceiving farmers with false promises of loan waivers. Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad's Telangana Bhavan, KTR alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's claims about the loan waiver scheme were exaggerated and that only a small portion of the promised amount had been waived. He pointed out discrepancies in the statements made by the Chief Minister and his ministers on the status of the loan waiver.

KTR argued that despite the government's assertions that the loan waiver process was complete, ongoing farmer protests across the state highlight the scheme's failure. He condemned the government for filing non-bailable cases against protesting farmers in Adilabad district, questioning whether seeking a loan waiver had become a criminal offense. KTR announced that the BRS would organize protests in every village and Mandal across Telangana to pressure the government into honoring its commitments. He accused the Congress of reducing their initial loan waiver promise of Rs 40,000 crores to Rs 7,500 crores, leaving many farmers unsupported.

KTR also demanded the immediate withdrawal of cases against protesting farmers, warning that the BRS would escalate its protests if the cases were not dropped. He vowed that the BRS would continue to fight against what he described as a deceitful government until every farmer received their rightful loan waiver. Additionally, KTR criticized the Chief Minister's recent controversial comments, suggesting they were meant to deflect attention from the loan waiver issue. He declared that the BRS would not be distracted and would persist in their campaign for farmers' rights. KTR concluded by challenging the government to fulfill its promises without further delay and to cease the harassment of farmers under various pretexts.
