Star India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has expressed his thoughts on the forthcoming Test and T20I series against Bangladesh, stating that Team India aims to maintain the same intensity no matter who the opponent is. With the Bangladesh Test series commencing at home on September 19, Pant's performance in red-ball cricket during the Duleep Trophy, representing India B, will be closely observed.

In an interview with Jio Cinema, Pant mentioned that teams such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka perform well on Asian pitches due to their familiarity with the conditions. He emphasized that Team India focuses primarily on their own standards and continual improvement. 'Asian countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka perform well in Asian conditions because they are accustomed to the wickets. However, as the Indian cricket team, we focus solely on our own standards and how we can improve. Regardless of the opposition, we strive to play with the same intensity and give our hundred percent every single day,' Pant was quoted as saying from a Jio Cinema release.

India is set to face Bangladesh in a two-match Test and three-game T20I series at home from September 19 to October 12, where key Bangladeshi spinners such as Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz might feature. This will be followed by a three-match Test series against New Zealand from October 16 to November 5. The outcomes of these series will be essential for India's preparation for the Border Gavaskar Trophy later this year.

Bangladesh enters the series in top form, having recently whitewashed Pakistan 2-0 in a two-match Test series. The Bengal Tigers secured an impressive 10-wicket victory over Pakistan in the first Test, followed by a six-wicket win in the second Test match. (ANI)
