Congress leader Ajoy Kumar on Tuesday accused the BJP of engaging in 'state sponsored terrorism' in Tripura. He took a direct dig at Prime Minister Modi, questioning the efficacy of his '56-inch' promise to eradicate terrorism.
Highlighting a tragic incident in Jammu and Kashmir where four soldiers were killed by terrorists, Kumar alleged that the BJP is perpetuating violence in Tripura by attacking and killing political opponents. He criticized the ruling government's inaction, urging both the Prime Minister and Home Minister Amit Shah to dismiss BJP members involved in violence.
Kumar recalled a 2022 delegation visit to Tripura, where they faced attacks, labeling it further evidence of state-sponsored terror. Meanwhile, the district administration of Dhalai reported that recent violence destroyed up to 40 shops and 25 houses, leading to arrests and heightened security measures. Superintendent of Police Dhalai Avinash Rai attributed the unrest to heightened emotions and assured that the situation is now under control.
