Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled 109 high-yielding, climate-resilient, and biofortified crop varieties during an event at the India Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi. He underscored the significant milestones farmers are achieving through the adoption of natural farming while interacting with them at PUSA.

Despite heavy rain, the Prime Minister continued to engage with farmers, even holding umbrellas for them. Officials suggested canceling the interaction, but Modi insisted on proceeding. He emphasized farmers' willingness to move away from pesticides and embrace natural farming methods, which are proving beneficial.

Modi proposed that farmers experiment with new seed varieties in small sections of their land before fully adopting them. He expressed his commitment to accelerated progress in his third term, highlighting recent agricultural initiatives. The PM also stressed the importance of research and innovation, adding 'Jai Anusandhan' to the iconic 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan' and 'Jai Vigyan' slogans.

The newly released crop varieties include cereals, millets, forage crops, oilseeds, pulses, sugarcane, cotton, fiber, and various horticultural crops. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan praised the scientists' efforts, stating that these advancements will boost farmers' profits, improve public nutrition, and enhance exports.
