Man Sentenced to 25 Years for Kidnapping and Raping Teen

Harivrind Singh from a village near Bhimpura police station was sentenced to 25 years in prison for kidnapping and raping a 16-year-old girl on May 30, 2023. The court of Additional Sessions Judge Pratham Kant also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on him.

A 25-year prison sentence was handed down to Harivrind Singh for kidnapping and raping a 16-year-old girl from a village within the Bhimpura police station jurisdiction, officials reported Saturday.

The prosecution detailed that the crime occurred on May 30, 2023, leading to immediate legal action based on the victim's father's complaint. Charges were made under the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act.

After an investigation, a chargesheet was filed, and the case proceeded to trial. Additional Sessions Judge Pratham Kant convicted Singh, sentencing him to 25 years and fining him Rs 30,000.
