Supreme Court Unveils Expanded Creche Facility for Staff and Lawyers
The Supreme Court of India has inaugurated a larger creche facility that can accommodate around 100 children of staff and lawyers. The Supreme Court of India has unveiled a newly expanded creche facility on its premises, capable of accommodating roughly 100 children of court staff and lawyers, Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud announced Thursday.
During a session of a five-judge constitution bench, CJI Chandrachud informed advocates about the upgraded space. The revamped creche, spanning 450 square meters, features an elaborate play area, sleeping quarters, and a dining section, among other amenities.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta encouraged bar members to contribute toys and other essentials to the creche, enhancing its utility. Additionally, a new high-tech branch of the Bank of Maharashtra has been inaugurated within the administrative building complex, offering automated lockers and other advanced facilities.
