The Delhi Police on Thursday announced the successful dismantling of an Al Qaeda terror module, following the arrest of 11 individuals and the detainment of three others across Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.

According to officials, the operation was conducted in collaboration with state police forces after receiving crucial intelligence inputs. Six individuals were apprehended in Rajasthan's Bhiwadi while undergoing weapons training. They were identified as natives of Jharkhand—Hasan Ansari, Enamul Ansari, Altaf Ansari, Arshad Khan, Umar Farroq, and Shahbaz Ansari. Another five were arrested in Ranchi, Jharkhand, including the alleged leader, Dr. Ishtiyaq Ahmed.

The Delhi Police highlighted that the module aimed to establish 'khilafat' and orchestrate major terrorist activities within the country. Further raids and investigations are being carried out, with arms, ammunition, and documents being recovered from multiple locations. The police confirmed that the module members had been active for months and maintained connections via social media. A case was registered on July 15 under section of 61 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
