Major Drug Busts Uncover Narcotics Worth Rs 1.4 Crore in Uttar Pradesh
Drugs worth nearly Rs 1.4 crore have been seized in operations in two districts of Uttar Pradesh. In Deoria, two were arrested with charas and brown sugar totalling Rs 1.15 crore. In Bahraich, another suspect was caught with heroin valued at Rs 23 lakh.

In a significant crackdown, drugs worth nearly Rs 1.4 crore have been seized in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria and Bahraich districts, police disclosed on Thursday. In Deoria, the Bhalluani police apprehended two suspects and confiscated narcotics worth over Rs 1 crore, according to officials.
Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement intercepted an SUV at Ganga Mod in Karmatar village, as per Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Bhim Kumar Gautam. The vehicle occupants, Abhishek Kumar Chaturvedi and Amritash Singh from Bihar's Siwan district, were found with 6.4 kilograms of charas and 440 grams of brown sugar, cumulatively valued at Rs 1.15 crore.
Meanwhile, in Bahraich district near the Nepal border, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and local police conducted a joint operation. They arrested Alok Singh, an alleged drug trafficker, with 34 grams of heroin valued at Rs 23 lakh. Singh admitted acquiring the drugs from an Indian source to deliver to Nepal.
