Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar appeared before the Lokayukta police on Thursday for questioning concerning a disproportionate assets (DA) case filed against him.

In February, the Lokayukta police registered a case against Shivakumar after the Congress government withdrew consent for the CBI to investigate and transferred the case to the Lokayukta. Shivakumar spoke to reporters, revealing that he was questioned for three hours and would need to submit further documents.

Shivakumar criticized both the CBI and Lokayukta for harassment, noting that the CBI continues to investigate despite the case transfer. The Supreme Court recently dismissed his challenge against the CBI's FIR. The CBI alleges Shivakumar amassed disproportionate assets between 2013-2018 while a minister in the Congress government.
